Hi Everyone (Mom and Dad especially!)

I just wanted to let you know that we made it to Salvador safely...but not without problems. In the airport when we went through security somehow Eva mysteriously lost her wallet with her credit card, PUC id and Fed. Police paper. Luckily, she was able to call her parents and put a hold on her card. The airport people were not very helpful and didn´t speak any English. BUT The flight went well and we arrived in Salvador. There was a taxi driver waiting to take us to the hostel. We spent the night in a hostel in Pelorinho (the historic center of the city) VERY different experience! Slept in a room with 8 bunk beds and I was on the very top. The temp. is about the same here, but more humid. We just had some sheets to put on the bed. It´s hard because I´ve never stayed in a place like this and wasn´t really prepared with what to bring. Like I should´ve brought my own towel cause I had to rent one. We went out on the street just to look around last night and it was kind of scary. We are really out of place because we are so white. This morning I took a shower (thankfully warm) and we had a great breakfast with breads, cheese, corn and coco cake, coffee, juice, fruit. It was almost worth it just for that. I think I´´ll buy an Int´l hostel card to get discounts in the hostels here. It´s only R$20. I think we might stay in the same hostel tonight and look for a new place tomorrow. It already rained here this morning, but I think it´s normal. We´ll probably do some site seeing around the historic center today. Well, I think my time is almost up on the computer. I´ll try to write later, but just wanted to let you know I was okay. Love you!
